The first skate park in Syria

A skate park in Syria

Post by skate-aid:

This authentic, atmospheric and emotional film by Simon Fölster about our latest skate-aid project in Qudsaya, a suburb of Damascus, shows in a moving way the Syrian kids, who speak for themselves and tell their hopes, wishes and dreams. At the grand opening of the skate park, which was built in cooperation with SOS Children's Villages worldwide and SOS Children's Villages Syria, we were on the spot and experienced an enthusiasm that really touched us. For the kids (and not just for the kids) the skate park offers a safe environment and a common meeting places, where they can let off steam self-determined, master challenges and strengthen their character. To put it in Titus Dittmann's words: "Our children are our future! Let’s do everything we can to ensure that they will have a bright one"

A special thank you to Vans, Santa Cruz Skateboards, Creature Skateboards, Independent Trucks, Titus and TSG International for supporting our work! Thank you to SOS Kinderdoerfer weltweit and SOS Childrens Villages Syria for the great cooperation. And thank you to Simon Fölster for donating his time and effort to come to syria with us and for creating this moving film about our work!
