Camera & Editor

My name is Simon Fölster, I'm thirty, living in Hamburg. I am working as an editor, camera operator and postproduction supervisor at elb motion pictures GmbH on long form documentaries for the ZDF, NDR, SWR & others.
Maily editing with Avid Media Composer, but also love Premiere Pro & DaVinci. Right now shooting with my own Sony A7IV or other Sony cameras like the FX6.

Before my current job I was working as a film and video freelancer - mainly as an editor, colorist, 1. & 2. AC, Data Wrangler, ... - I tried out a lot, because I think every team member in a film production is important and special in its own department. Also been working in another film production for short form content like TV adverts, image film and social media content.

Due to my studies with the focus on film I got to know a lot about filming, editing, photography, design & also programming.

With a main focus on filming and editing, I was doing a traineeship in 2018 at the Element E filmproduction in Hamburg. I was working on a lot of projects during that time for example editing short films for a German TV show called "Olaf macht Mut" with Olaf Schubert. During the internship I mainly worked as an editor but also helped out on many sets for example as 1. & 2. AC.

In mid 2019 I also had the opportunity to shoot a film in Syria, which was a voluntary work for skate-aid and SOS Childrens Villages and which was a really big thing for me and so far my absolut favorite project I ever worked on! You should definitely check out this project! These kids in Damascus are awesome and so special to me!
