During my travel to Syria I met Shaba, who is an awesome, friendly but cheeky, lovingly and lively girl. She is living in a suburb of Damascus with her mother. The lives of Shaba and her mother changed in the year 2019.
Skate-aid and SOS childrens villages built the first skate park of Syria in front of their home. More specifically directly in their garden. Shaba didn't know about skateboarding before some foreigners came to built the park.
Some people from skate-aid teached Shaba how to skate. When I got to know her, she was already racing throught the skate park, with a big smile on her face. I guess she's the best skater girl around!
